BMW Mini amplifier defect?

In the Mini Cooper models R50, R52 and R53 problems with the sound system can occur.

Symptom 1: Current is too high. The device pulls about 170mA and thus discharges the battery.

Symptom 2: Complete failure. All speakers are without function.

The cause of failure is usually the DSP audio amplifier from Harman/Kardon.

The repair offer is not valid for the amplifier version HS3897 and HS6599.
